Mandy Richardson is a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C), Board-Approved Supervisor, and the owner of Hope and Light Counseling, LLC. She has more than a decade of experience providing mental health services across outpatient, school, and crisis settings. Mandy earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2012 and obtained her LCSW-C in 2014. She currently provides clinical supervision to social workers, counselors, and emerging mental health professionals, offering mentorship and guidance as they build confidence and develop their clinical skills.

Throughout her career, Mandy has worked in a variety of clinical and school-based environments providing individual, family, and group therapy. She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, first responders, and veterans. Mandy has also collaborated closely with first responders on cases involving students and families, giving her a unique understanding of the impact of trauma, crisis, and high-stress professions.

Her clinical experience includes trauma intervention, crisis response, suicide prevention, and substance use treatment. Mandy is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Interventions in Schools (CBITS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She integrates these and other evidence-based approaches into her work to provide individualized care that supports healing, resilience, and personal growth.

Mandy believes that therapy should be collaborative, personalized, and responsive to each client’s unique strengths and experiences. She works to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood, and where they can develop practical tools to manage stress, improve relationships, and navigate life’s challenges.

In addition to her clinical work, Mandy is passionate about mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals. Her approach to supervision reflects her therapeutic style—supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping professionals grow with confidence in their clinical abilities.

Through Hope and Light Counseling, Mandy is committed to helping individuals and families find healing, strength, and hope, even during life’s most difficult moments.
